We will go down to Square of Comércio, Lisbon downtown, the place where the European royal families disembarked when they came to visit the Portuguese court. In here while we admire the place, we will talk about the events that marked the change in architecture in the XVIIIth century, in particular, the earthquake of 1755.
After we will go to the quarters of Chiado, Carmo and Bairro Alto while we head to the Monastery of Jerónimos, in Belém, for a visit.
Belém and Portuguese Riviera
It’s time for a Pastel de Belém…
Pastéis de Belém is one of the oldest houses with gastronomic tradition in Lisbon. Thus, this is a mandatory stop: this flavour will not be forgotten. You will be delighted with this speciality of ours.
It’s time to embark on a ride through the Estoril Coast to Cascais, the Portuguese Riviera, admiring the beautiful beaches that we encounter until we arrive at the city of Cascais. Here you will have free time to make a walk on foot in the City, the Bay and Boca do Inferno.
The next stop in the Portuguese Riviera will be Cape Roca, the most western point in Europe, and then we will go for a ride through Colares, which is located on the base of Serra de Sintra.
Right after we will lose ourselves in the charms of this mountain and of its palaces and castle.
Now we have some free time to visit the centre of the Town of Sintra. You can take this opportunity to visit the National Palace of Sintra, or simply enjoy a travesseiro at Piriquita, a famous patisserie of this town.
We will return from the Mountain to the city for a drop off at the hotel. Your trip to the Portuguese Riviera, Sintra and Lisbon is done and you probably have a lot of stories to tell!
